Over the course of five months, this project became a space for personal growth, creativity, and building community ties, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to social and cultural well-being.
With the active participation of 30 seniors over the age of 50 at the start of the process, and 20 brave and talented participants who completed the project, the workshop offered 25 theater training sessions and four additional voice and singing meetings. Regardless of prior stage experience, the participants embarked on an artistic learning journey, exploring their talents and discovering new passions.
The workshop, led by actress Daniella Valenciano, culminated in a performance of the play “A Very Shaky Bride’s Farewell” by playwright Antonia Jiménez Rodríguez. The production had three performances: two at Teatro Espressivo and one at the Casa de la Cultura de La Unión, allowing the participants to share their talent with the community.
This project not only promoted artistic development but also became a space for recreation, friendship, and emotional well-being. The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to connect with others, overcome personal challenges, and become part of a creative team.
“The energy and dedication of each participant are proof that it is never too late to explore new passions and talents. This program represents a successful model of how art can contribute to the holistic well-being of seniors,” emphasized Daniella Valenciano.
This type of project reflects the mission of Demain Foundation in promoting culture as an essential pillar for the social and economic development of Latin America. By supporting theatrical activities that strengthen cultural identity and offer spaces for personal growth, the foundation contributes to building more cohesive and resilient communities.
