Demain Foundation Advances Dialogue Between Education and Technology Through InterTOK+AI 2025

InterTOK+AI 2025 strengthened the connection between education and innovation, helping develop a generation prepared to lead with critical thinking in an AI-driven world.

More than 280 students from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme participated in the second edition of InterTOK+AI—an event that brings together critical thinking and technology to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we learn, work, and make decisions.

Organized by IBCompass, Demain Foundation’s education platform, the event took place on October 22–23 at América Free Zone (AFZ), bringing together young people from public and private schools across Costa Rica. Over two days, participants examined topics such as algorithmic ethics; authorship and creativity in the digital age; information traceability; and collaboration between humans and machines.

“Events like InterTOK+AI demonstrate the powerful link between education and innovation, and the importance of preparing young people to engage with technology critically and responsibly,” said Andrea Cartín, Executive Director of Demain Foundation.

A Bridge Between Education and the Productive Sector

InterTOK +AI 2025 also strengthened ties between academia and the business community. Companies including HP, Bayer, Valor Global, Any2cloud and Spectraforce hared real-world examples of AI applications across different fields. FIFCO and America Free Zone (AFZ) joined as event sponsors, reaffirming the private sector’s commitment to advancing technological education for the next generation.

The program featured Diego Murillo Escalante, a professor at INCAE Business School, who addressed responsible AI adoption and the analytical skills demanded by emerging professional profiles; as well as Carlos Víquez, CEO of Grupo América, who underscored the role of students in an increasingly digital and automated era.

Purpose-Driven Learning

Through this initiative, Demain Foundation reaffirms its commitment to transformative education—one that fosters critical thinking, digital ethics, and stronger connections between schools and the workplace of the future.
